How to Check Margin Loan Limits, Directly from Your Account?
There is one condition, check your account first!!!
Loan limits vary by account, credit score, and held stocks.
Retail investor: "How much can I borrow with my account right now?"
You can check immediately after logging into your account.
Open the broker app or HTS and go to the 'Margin/Loan' menu.
Where does the limit appear?
In the broker app → check 'available loan' in the margin menu.
The amount shown on screen is the maximum you can borrow immediately.
Explanation: Available loan → the money you can borrow from the account right now.
How is the limit calculated?
It is calculated from held stock valuation, credit score, and collateral type.
Because each stock has a different recognition ratio, the limit can vary even with the same valuation.
Recognition ratio: the collateral proportion the broker applies to that stock.
Where do I find interest rates and fees?
Check margin interest rates and late fees in the broker's notices.
Detailed rates change often, so confirm the latest standards with the broker or the Financial Supervisory Service.
How should borrowed money be repaid step by step?
→ Step 1: First check maturity and interest dates.
→ Step 2: If you have cash, pressing the 'repay now' button to pay all is the simplest.
→ Step 3: If cash is insufficient, use 'partial repayment' to reduce interest sources.
→ Step 4: Sell held stocks to repay and reduce interest burden.
Retail investor: "What should I check before selling stocks?"
First check fees, taxes, and the time it takes for cash to reflect after sale.
Repayment priority, what comes first?
Repaying with available cash immediately reduces interest burden.
Prioritize short-term maturities to lower the risk of delinquency.
If repaying by selling stocks, consider the quote and taxes at the time of sale.
Some risk management tips
Excessive use of margin increases the risk of forced liquidation in a sharp drop.
Brokers may demand additional collateral in emergencies, so keep reserve funds.
So, what to do first
→ 1. Check the broker app 'available loan' screen.
→ 2. Capture and save notices on interest rate, maturity, and late fees.
→ 3. Make a repayment plan and prioritize full repayment or partial repayment.
